We recommend that voters return Democrat Maricela Moore to the 162nd Civil District Court in Dallas County.

Moore, who is seeking a second term, has the widespread respect of plaintiffs, defendants and lawyers for her calm courtroom demeanor, impartiality and preparedness based on Dallas Bar Association polling. As an attorney, Moore, 45, worked at large firms and small firms, has handled complex commercial and employment litigation and represented both individuals and businesses in contract disputes, employment disputes, trade secrets cases and complex commercial disputes.

She is presiding judge over jury services and was instrumental in shaping a plan, now being implemented, to make it easier to compile a more diverse jury pool. She is also working on using video and web conferencing technology to allow for the court to safely resume jury trials that have been on hold in the county during the pandemic.

Moore’s broad experience and passion to make the court system fairer to those who come into a courtroom are qualities that we like in a judge. Having seen the issues from all sides, and the all important understanding of the law, are ingredients that make a judge effective and fair...Moore runs a professional courtroom, grasps the importance of access to justice and is the superior choice in this race.
